Colors

Amber occurs in a range of different colors and because it is a natural product, you will find that color variations will occur even within the same bead.

As well as the usual yellow-orange-brown that is associated with the color “amber”, amber itself can range from a whitish color through a pale lemon yellow, to brown and almost black. Other uncommon colors include red amber (or “cherry amber”), green amber, and even the rare blue amber.

Generally, the lighter and more milky, or opaque the bead, the higher the succinic acid content, thus containing more of amber’s energies.
